There is no place like this gorgeous, 3000-acre, oceanfront paradise. Fripp Island is a quiet, relaxed golf school paradise location.
The daily instructional programs will be held at the Ocean Creek Golf Course. Our own secluded teaching facility along with chipping, pitching and putting area make the students feel at ease. Over the course of golf school, we utilize both the Ocean Creek Golf Course and Ocean Point Golf Links.
Fripp Island Resort guests stay in individually owned and decorated condo-style villas offer views of the ocean or surrounding natural beauty. We have the highest quality and largest selection of rental homes and villas ranging from oceanfront to scenic and golf views. All include dining areas and fully equipped kitchens with full-size refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, coffee/tea makers, cookware, dishware, and utensils. Each villa has its own washer and dryer. It is your home away from home.
One, two and three bedroom Villas have separate living rooms with sofas or sofa beds, dining areas, TVs, CD players, and either DVD players or VCRs. Telephones come with voice mail and complimentary on-island calls. Internet access may be dial-up, wireless, or high-speed (surcharges may apply).
Fripp Island boasts two courses with classic layouts and distinct personalities.
Ocean Creek Golf Club, designed by PGA Champion Davis Love III and Paul Cowley was opened in 1995. Incorporating sweeping views of salt water marshes, fresh water lagoons, lush jungle vegetation and four distinctive rolling dune ridges, this beautiful course is 6,613 total yards and a par 71.
The signature 6th and 7th holes are situated on the "Old House Creek" and marsh, which Jacques Cousteau called "one of the most pristine salt-water marsh habitats in the world". Five holes are edged by marsh, while another six incorporate interior wetlands, preserved and connected to the course through a network of wooden walkways and bridges.
You may want to pack your camera in your golf bag, as the course is home to a wondrous variety of wildlife including egrets, osprey, herons, and deer. You may even catch a glimpse of a few alligators patrolling the lagoons or basking in the sun! The landscape is so wonderful, in fact, that it attracted movie producers to film scenes from Forrest Gump and Disney’s live action version of The Jungle Book.
"The Creek" features five sets of tees including the Wee-Links tees that make the course enjoyable for all skill levels and a fair challenge to the advanced player. The wide fairways and large greens offer enticing targets, but stray shots beware!
